Procedural Texturing

Following one of my lecturers tutorials on materials in Arnold, and after seeing a very compeling and comprehensive tutorial on TheRenderBlog about procedural texturing using a complex combination of noise utilities in Maya with Arnold and alSurface, I was able to create some interesting textures for a fire hydrant. 

I am yet to further explorer the possibilities of procedural texturing as it would aid me quite a lot having texture a big scene with a lot of objects. I find this technique great for producing bump maps.

I am really intrested to try making some organic textures like reptile skin.
